The Ark of Mark is a Christian humor blog.
Mark is a native of Kentucky. In college he studied electrical engineering, ran cross-country and track, and went on very few dates. He suspects some of these facts are related. During college he refused to acknowledge that he enjoyed courses in literature and writing more than engineering.
Nevertheless, Mark has happily toiled as an engineer since 1992. In 1993 he agreed to a very well-conceived blind date and a year later married Laura, whose faith is a consistent inspiration and challenge to him. Their children are Jacob and Shelby.
During his free time Mark enjoys running, watching sports on TV, and eating funnel cakes. Mark wrote a very lame science-fiction book in seventh grade which went on to sell 17 copies in his middle school. After a writing break several years in length, he started writing Christian humor in 2000 and with the encouragement of friends started The Ark of Mark by email in 2003, and went online in 2005. After putting up a good fight he succumbed to the blog format in 2009, about the same time that most people stopped thinking of blogs as “cool.”
